What I don't want is a repeat of remixes that are already available on recently released cd's, that would be a waste of valuable space. My vote goes to
any rough mixes, guide tracks, unreleased tracks, F2F and New Skin end credit mixes, and that fabulous El Dia mix.

i'd love to hear the version of the RAPTURE prior to John Cale's involvement. I heard (tho not heard w/ my own ears) that some of the versions they
played at the Reading Festival were amazing and different then the final lp versions.

If they were recorded and still exsist, I'd really like to hear the discarded Roxy Music covers from the Looking Glass sessions. Also the live version of "Fall From Grace" from the Reading festival and a good demo of that song would be wonderful. |

If someone has the issue of B-Side magazine from 1990 (the Creatures on the cover), I believe Siouxsie talks at length about how it was filmed and then the production company held it hostage for a ridiculous sum of money. So they moved on but were somewhat heartbroken over it. Am I remembering incorrectly? |

That was the BBC audio recording.
"Well, we had a great live in concert thing for Radio One, and it sounded great, and we said can we use that, and they said no!" "That was because we were going to erect the stage posthumously and do a show but maybe what we'll do is the next time we go out well combine elements of that and other ideas we have..." muses Budgie hopefully. Wow. This is amazing. Severin -- you've opened a few cans of worms! Thank you Peter for your list of The Knowables. Yes, that is comprehensive. I for
one am with most everyone about the remixes -- not really into them. The only ones I ever really liked were the Eclipse Mix of Shadowtime and the
Lepidopteristic Mix of Killing Jar. But I have them both and do not need them again.
I am most interested in demos and surprises -- songs we may have never heard; things left off the final albums, etc. Anything NEW. I am totally loving the idea of the Kroq Acoustic show, and if there were a slew of live cuts from Lollapallooza 91 I'd be so into that. I am so thankful to Steven that he asked. This is so cool. But I feel that he is mistaken about them being the 'least-liked batch.' I love Looking Glass, Superstition & The Rapture.

In the entranced book the author mentions they filmed the peepshow concert in montreux, no? Go back to the book and see. That would be Banshees holy grail-a
filmed peepshow tour vid. I know they taped it at rugters in NJ lol

Only one song surfaced on youtube "The Last beat..." and one dunno if the rest of the performance was fully captured. It was not a proper indoors concert with the full light show. |

Here's a proposal for Severin.
1) Adding a remix right at the end of each remaster spoils the impetus of the album that one has just listened to. That's why each time I skip them to go to the demos. 2) For Through The Looking Glass, it would be also fine to include the complete versions of certain songs where there are fade-out at the end. The unreleased Wheel's On Fire version with the complete end on the 2002 best-of was a welcome release. So for certain numbers, Hall Of Mirrors, Passenger... 3) Regarding Superstion, one often underlines that the production of Hague smoothed the sound, especially the guitars. So, that would be fine to give more justice to certain songs as they were far more edgy live. This was particularly patent for Fear, Cry, Drifter and Silver Waterfalls. As the band owes the recording of Seattle'91, (taped by their engineer Charles Gray), that could also be a possibility for the bonus tracks. This said, I would also like to hear stripped down demos (à la velvet underground, I like Staring Back very much) : maybe the songs sounded more like that during the pre-production phase. So if some recordings exist of that time, that would be a must. 4) One also won't find inrelevant to include alternate versions of some B-sides. 5) For Peephow, one needs unreleased song and Demos of the album tracks obviously. Personally, I would give my right arm to get a demo version of The Last beat of My heart... 6) For The Rapture, one absolutely needs a rougher version of "Fall From Grace", closer than the one played by Jon Klein during the 1993 concerts, when in the last minute, he made his guitar rise up in a crescendo. I've got a terrific audio bootleg performance of the Northeim concert. A absolute treat. Well, the concert was also recorded by the deutsch television as five different songs were entirely shown on tv. The version of FFG at the Reading 'concert was a disaster due to problems of amp's during the first numbers.

I'm a "newer" fan since the mid '90s and I'm amazed at the knowledge on this forum. I didn't live in the States or the UK, so most of
these demos, mixes, live and lost tracks are unknown to me. I'm glad Severin is willing to listen to fans and at the same time keep the Quality Control on.
God knows some of the extra material on the The Cure remasters was crap.

Them Cure fans is VERY touchy about any criticism of the alleged pearls cast before them. The packaging, however, was generally splendid, it must be said. |

I only own one of the Cure remasters, but my impression is that there were a few quailty extras mixed in with the crap. I love "Break" from the
Pornography remaster.

I might be mistaken, but I believe there is an alternative version of The Lonely One that was only on some of The Rapture acetates. Not much of a difference
from what I remember but it would still be nice to have a different version in place of the original that's on the cd now.

Metal Guru has some valid points: Demos are necessary for the more produced albums Superstition (Hague) and Rapture (Cale); I think providing remixes for this
set of remasters will only further the impression that these albums are negligible or weak in comparison with the others (which is untrue). They were relevant
to the other albums as they expanded the dynamic of the songs; the same cannot be said for "Kiss them for me" remixes etc. (they seem to confine a
song to genre). Personally, I say NO remixes; demos and unreleased only (do you REALLY think the band only recorded 10 or so songs? Pah!). Save remixes for an
itunes compilation. Severin seems to have a more conceptual rather than completist sensibility regarding this project, so I believe my suggestion has some
validity. I am SO pleased Severin is taking the time with these re-issues (as well as reaching out to fans. History is communal). It definitely helps solidify
the band's visionary role in music history. From the feedback in this forum though; his job is in no way complete: any and all filmed concerts need to be
released as well as a complete, updated music video compilation (tandem 2 disc release?). Audio only of well-received concerts from select eras also. How about
a documentary? USA!?! No Downside or remasters? WTF!! Just brainstorming... I have been reading this forum for quite awhile; this is one of the most exciting
posts!! ...listening to Rapture a lot. 'Tearing Apart' especially: "I know that i'm to blame." it's how she sings it, you know?
