Is the JVC version of False Face out of the question for the Peepshow remaster?

A different version of one of my favorite songs! |

One doesn't put everybody in the same bag.
Each one has his own opinion... I also happen to like "False Face. Some people like" Into A Swan", I don't but I love the rest of Mantaray.

Here's my wishlist…
*Peepshow Concert Video I agree that a video of a Peepshow concert would be the Holy Grail. The thought that it was never filmed is a depressing one… The band always seemed so proud of that show, its theatricality and all. Does anyone have a decent non-official recording of it? I hear that there's one of the Newcastle gig that's decent. *Face to Face demos/alternate mixes Any alternate versions of Face to Face. (The first post mentions that the end credits version on Batman Returns is "more orchestral…" I thought that it was just a matter of how the song was mixed from stereo to multiple channels back to stereo again, but if it were more orchestral I'd definitely DEFINITELY be interested in that). *Any Demos and previously unreleased tracks Would also rank higher for me than remixes. *Live recordings Would love live stuff from Superstition and The Rapture tours. "Sister Midnight" was a great recording, if there are any others of that quality in the vaults, I'd die to hear 'em. *Lollapalooza (audio and video would both rock) and the KROQ Acoustic Christmas Show *Roxy Music covers from Through the Looking Glass - this would be awesome. BTW, anyone know which songs they did? *Remixed version of The Rapture (When the subject of remasters originally surfaced years back, a little birdie told me that The Rapture might be remixed in its entirety? If the difference would be anything like the difference between Stargazer on the album and on the "Best Of" compilation, I think it would take the album to a whole new level… It might be in the same vein as the following comment made above: "i'd love to hear the version of the RAPTURE prior to John Cale's involvement. I heard (tho not heard w/ my own ears) that some of the versions they played at the Reading Festival were amazing and different then the final lp versions." |

My suggestion is that the next batch is like the previous ones: i.e. digipaks, with same fonts on spines and back covers etc. I think especially the latest set
of remasters look and sound brilliant.

How long can we expect to wait for the next batch of remasters? I'd imagine that it wouldn't be for another year or so, so this thread is a goldmine
for a relatively new fan like me who isn't familiar with all of the goodies! I can say that I always prefer to hear unreleased songs over remixes/demos,
but I'll take what I can get!

My vote always goes to including 7" single mixes if they are different from the album versions, and even if they are edits. 12" mixes are nice as
well, although I don't care for many 90s and beyond remixes as they're usually too clubby sounding. The Rapture came out on glow-in-the-dark
vinyl in the US...how about a glow-in-the-dark CD? Is that even possible? (At least for the label side). One can dream, right?

You've just reminded me Surly. Can we please please please have the remastered The Rapture in the LP vinyl sleeve and not the inferior CD sleeve version?

How about more promotion from the band and label on the next batch of remasters? It's pathetic how the current remasters received little to no attention
from anyone outside this site.

hi severin, hi peter, hi all!
as written in another thread, i only consider an actual bonus (and a real gift!) starcrossed lovers. i found quite interesting the warner chappel demos even if tey're too slow and (hope it's the right word) chewy and sitting room it's not an actual unreleased track 'cause it's hardly a track. i was so disappointed with hyaena bonuses cause i had a lot of expectations. dear prudence was already in the best of and in TUAT but i understand why it's there, dazzle's mix it's one of my favourites mixes of the banshees but, again, in the mixed disc of the best of and baby piano.... what is that? at least baby piano pt 2 is a good piece of music. infantry is ok and it's ok fireworks (NGV) on juju but i don't get substantial differences of spellbound and arabian nighs 12" i don't skip them just because this album and these songs are just so good. havent buy AKITDH so we'll hear. INTERESTED IN: unreleased (but complete) songs, i quite enjoy the rough demos, i would like A LOT alternate vocals of any song. studio or live rehearsal. Mixes that give a new light or a different point of view of the song. to cite siouxsie's solo work, the single of into a swan contained a slowed down (with alternate vocals) and a harder version of IAS. the single contained the same song but seen from 3 differents point of view (bjork did a lot of these in the past) NOT INTERESTEDIN: mixes in general but in particular mixes already been published on cd. thankyou & ciao. remasters... | ||

i wrote to steven a few months ago about the remasters... i would really love to have the loveapella mix of kiss them for me and the 7" of song from the
edge... there's just so much of this period that i would like to see released and remastered... and why not the KROQ bbq concert where two of our b-sides
came from? i'm quite sad that there's not more live banshees stuff out there... not to toot robert smith's horn, but the cure remasters have some
great live tracks included on them...

I know it exists only under bootleg videos but ANY good live footage of the Peepshow Tour of 1988 would be a great extra DVD disc to throw in. It is criminal
that Geffen didn't suggest doing this.
